The reason that I chose architecture as a career, is that this role allows me to pursue projects which I feel make a significant contribution to our built environment. But more importantly it gives me the platform to go out and advocate for the issues that I am most passionate about. These efforts are focused around placemaking; with an emphasis on smart growth, walkability, sustainability, and the arts in order to develop healthy, vibrant communities. I am a champion for these as community building blocks, and I strive to align the people and resources necessary to advance them in a positive vision for all cities. These types of projects are my passion because of the impact that they have on their surroundings, both culturally as well as economically. When we renew our history instead of tearing it down, it only strengthens our community identity. I view every project as an opportunity to improve the quality of life for its users.
